![]() ![]() Īnd finally, like when MS decided to to not fork version number for Office 2016 onetime payment versions from Office 365/2016 and now 365/2019. Like when Office 2010 jumped over "version 13" to 14, for superstitious reasons. Like when Windows versions of Office came out, they jumped from WinWord 2.0 to Word 6, just to allow marketing to "keep up" with WordPerfect which had continued their numbering from DOS to Windows. MS has a long history of allowing marketing to interfere with development issues, like versions numbers. The major version of Office 2019 is staying at 16.0, so some additional things are staying the same for those upgrading from Office 2016, including the following. I can't imagine most people dealing with this. the one for 2019/2016 perpetual versions is about halfway down the page.
